01 / Before you start

A little preparation. A smoother arrival.

  • A compatible, unlocked phone

Check your exact model and purchase region with the manufacturer. The phone must support eSIM and be unlocked for other carriers.

  • A reliable Wi-Fi connection

Stay connected while the eSIM downloads. Have your phone charged and your private installation link ready.

  • Your personal installation details

Open the separate Simavelo eSIM email. Your secure link contains the QR code, SM-DP+ address and activation code.

02 / Install

Choose your phone.

Menu names vary by model, software version and phone language. These illustrated steps are a guide, not exact screenshots.

  3. Finish the setup

Label the new line Simavelo or Travel so you can recognise it. Keep your usual line for calls and messages if needed; this eSIM is for data.

No second screen? Use manual setup.

Use the details inside your private installation link, not a code from this public guide.

iPhone

On iPhone, choose Enter Details Manually from the QR setup screen. Enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code in their separate fields. Only enter a confirmation code if one was supplied.

Android

On Android, look for Enter activation code or a manual option in the QR setup flow. If the phone requests separate fields, use the address and code from your private link. If it requests one complete code, use the format below with your own values, without spaces or brackets.

Format only — replace both placeholders with your private details

QR code on the same iPhone?

On supported iOS versions (17.4 or later), touch and hold a QR in a supported browser or email app and choose Add eSIM if it appears. Otherwise use another screen or manual setup.

03 / Connect

At your destination, make it your data line.

When you are ready to use the plan, within its supported coverage, check these settings.

  1. Select the Simavelo line

Turn the travel eSIM on and choose it for mobile data. On iPhone use Cellular / Mobile Data; on Samsung use SIM manager; on Pixel use SIMs.

  2. Enable roaming on the travel eSIM

Enable data roaming for the Simavelo line. Keep data roaming off on your home line and turn automatic mobile-data switching off to reduce accidental use of your home plan.

  3. Let the network connect

Give the phone time to find a supported network. If your installation details specify an APN, follow those instructions; do not guess an APN or change the home SIM’s settings.

Keeping your home line active can still incur call, SMS or carrier roaming charges. Check with your home carrier, or turn that line off if you do not need it.

A bump along the way?

Keep your eSIM installed while you check these common issues.

The QR code will not scan

Use a clear QR on another screen, increase its brightness and check Wi-Fi. Try manual setup if scanning is unavailable. Never upload your QR to a public scanner.

The code says it is already used

Check whether the eSIM is already listed in your phone settings. Do not delete it or keep trying to install it on another phone. Contact us so we can check the profile.

Installed, but no internet

Confirm that you are in the plan’s coverage, it has data and validity remaining, and the travel line is selected for data with roaming enabled. Try airplane mode briefly, then restart the phone. Follow any supplied APN instructions.

I cannot find my installation email

Check spam and look for the separate eSIM email, not just the order confirmation. Your private link expires 30 days after issue; that is separate from plan validity. Contact us instead of ordering again.
